Siren

She arrived today, and my wonderful coworkers at REI put her together immediately. Love those boys. Her name is Siren. As in, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Siren

She is absolutely lovely. And she wants to go play in the mud. I can make friends with that.

I'm going to swap out the crankset, probably for XT hollowtech, and go for a lighter handlebar and stem. The front is Marzocchi, rear is Fox Float R. And dude, she's got 13" of clearance under the big chainring. Did I mention 5" of travel, front and rear?

Tomorrow I have a leadership retreat in north georgia, then sunday, since gee, i'm halfway there, I'm going to go introduce Siren to singletrack at Tsali.

Forecast for Sunday in Bryson City, NC (not to gloat, but...):

What a pretty girl! I need to introduce her to Calvin (my happy bike) the next time you're in town. You do remember Calvin's (of Calvin and Hobbes) constant struggle with his bike? =)
